Makiea works with pre-teens, teenagers, and adults who are navigating today’s stresses while working toward independence and growth. Makiea believe the client is their own expert, and it is her job to walk beside them on their journey of self-discovery. She implements evidence based, mindfulness approaches to therapy while also utilizing CBT, strength-based, and trauma-informed techniques. Makiea provides empathetic and compassionate counseling to assist clients with identifying goals as well as solutions to issues that causes emotional, mental, or psychological triggers. She also assists with improving effective coping and communication skills, strengthening self-esteem, and promoting challenging behavior change.
